March 21 - Psalm 85

This Psalm fits with the other readings from this week because it focuses on God’s forgiveness and his people’s need to be restored because they have fallen into sin. As you read it let it guide you in confession of your sins and let it help you ponder God’s mercy, forgiveness, steadfast love, and faithfulness.

When have you experienced God’s faithfulness?

Have you ever felt really guilty because of your sin? Have you ever felt restored by the God of your salvation?

Where do you find God’s salvation is near to you?

Lord God, you restored the fortunes of your people by giving your Son to die to pay for our sins. You forgave our iniquity, covered our sins, withdrew your wrath, and turned your anger away from us when Jesus died on the cross. Set his cross in our hearts. Help us ponder all that you have done for us. Restore us, O God of our salvation, and let our lives be filled with your grace. Amen.
