April 25 - Psalm 148

Probably THE word Easter is Alleluia, or the Hebraic version of the word, Hallelujah.

Hallelujah means, “Praise the Lord.” As you read this Psalm you are saying, “Hallelujah!” over and over again.

Notice the way that the Psalm calls everything to praise the Lord. All of Creation joins in praising Him, and that praise revolves around two things – that God created everything and that he has raised a horn for his people.

That second item might seem a little strange to us. What does it mean to raise a horn? In the Old Testament a horn is a symbol of strength, power, and salvation.

We praise the Lord for Creation and Salvation.

Praise the Lord! O God, you are our Creator and our Savior. Help us to praise you in everything, to make your name known, and to live in the joy of all your goodness and blessings. Amen.
