How do we praise God? Why do we praise the LORD? How have we experienced God’s salvation?
These questions are all answered in the themes of this
psalm.
Ponder the perspective of v. 5 as it thinks of weeping
and joy.
How does the salvation spoken of early in the Psalm shape
our understanding of v. 8 when we cry to God and plead for mercy?
Meditate on v. 10. What does it mean for the LORD to be your helper?
O LORD our
God, you have saved us in Jesus’ death and resurrection. Lead us in your paths
and help us live lives of repentant faith. Fill us with the joy of your
salvation so that we will praise you and give you thanks all through our lives.
