Virtue in the Wasteland: ViW12 Fighting for the Forgotten with Justin Wren
What happens when a 280 lb. world class wrestler turned
UFC fighter discovers he can use a different kind of strength to some of the
smallest most vulnerable people in the world? This interview with Justin Wren
reveals the answer. Wren is a heavyweight UFC fighter who learned about the
Mbuti Pygmies in Congo. These people are enslaved and considered to be animals
and property to be owned by their neighbors. They experience some of the worst
indignities humanity can dish out. Wren’s Christian faith has moved him to
compassion for these people, raising awareness and fighting for their freedom.

One Good Thing
This Week
We didn’t blow up. I write that humorously, but the real
good thing is that the memorial trees were moved. Unfortunately, when they
moved the first tree they hit a gas line. In the end it was a big
inconvenience, and we are thankful that everyone is okay. The trees have now
been moved out by the columbarium. Additionally, the construction trailer and
fencing have been put up. It is good to see activity!

Scripture lessons and spend a little time thinking about them before church on
Sunday get more out of the service.
The sermon is: The Art of Living By Faith: Washed
