An Interesting
Article/Podcast
The Thinking Fellows are a group of professors from Concordia
University, Irvine. They discuss a variety of topics from secular to sacred,
but mostly draw the conversation to living the life of faith with the hope of
Christ’s salvation. In this episode, they talk with David Zahl. He is the
college and young adult minister at Christ Episcopal Church, Charlottesville,
VA, and the author of a new book called Seculosity
– an examination of the religions of our secular age, which include
technology, parenting, politics, and even food.
Quote I’m
Pondering
“The reluctance of believers to defend their faith has
produced all too many fuzzyminded and listless Christians, who care very little
about what is to be believed.” – Avery Dulles, 1918-2008

There is a homeless man in our community. Some of our
members took him in. Some of our members are helping him, caring for him, and
loving him in Jesus’ name. They’ve provided clothing and found shelter for him.
They’ve connected him to ministries that will help him with counseling, training,
and Bible study. I wish I could go into detail, because the story is beautiful,
however, let it suffice to say that whatsoever you do for the least of these,
it was done for Jesus. God be praised!

Scripture lessons and spend a little time thinking about them before church on
Sunday get more out of the service.
The sermon is: A Day of Healing and Leaping
