A Baptismal Poem for My Daughter

Lord, today we bring to you our child
Through the water and the Word.
Please work within her heart and mind
To believe what we have heard.

That Jesus Christ, your Son our Lord,
Died to save her from her sins,
And purifies her from all guilt
That stains her heart and soul within.

And in this life-imparting stream
Is hope for all you have redeemed
For Jesus rose and gives new life
To all who would in him believe

Lord, help us raise this child to walk with you
And serve you all the days you bless her with
That in the end she stand with saints
To sing to you in glorious praise.
