Prayer Requests.

I sent an email this morning asking for the prayer requests of the congregation in light of the current COVID-19 stay home order. You are welcome to add yours in the comment section.

Here is a summary of the prayer requests we received:

-        That people will be able to cast their worries upon the Lord.
-        Faith to see that God is with us.
-        Strength and courage to lean on God in hard times.
-        For the ability to leave what we cannot control in God’s hands
-        “I am concerned about the future I have little or no control over. It is too big for me. So I must trust God. Please pray for the ability and willingness to do that.”

Mental Health
-        Those who are mentally struggling
-        Those who feel helpless
-        The elderly who are confined and unable to see family and friends.

Physical Health
-        A woman with a slight fever, but without good health insurance.
-        The pregnant – no one knows how exposure to COVID might impact children in utero.
-        For a 93 year old mom in the process of transitioning into assisted living – and she has the sniffles. (She is still in her home.)
-        Mike Dahler who is in the ICU, but has tested negative for COVID. Pray for healing
-        Families in quarantine – self-imposed and required.

-        Health care workers on the front lines.
o   We have many doctors, nurses, and other health professions at Gloria Dei. (We will work on assembling a list to pray for them!)
o   “I have two family members who work in ICU.”
o   A daughter who works as a nurse in the hospital.
o   The families of healthcare workers.
-        For the health of our healthcare workers during the crisis.
For students whose futures are uncertain and who are losing significant milestone experiences.
