Good Morning, Lord!
I Am Baptized
[God] has delivered us from the
domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in
whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. – Colossians 1:13-14
Make the sign of the cross as
you say, “In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.”
A Morning Prayer
O Lord, this is the day that you
have made. I will rejoice and be glad in it; at least that is what I will try
to do today. So often the stresses of the day rob me of my joy, so I pray that
you would give me an extra portion of your Spirit to secure the joy of Christ’s
salvation firmly in my heart and mind. When I face the troubles of the day, let
me have the confidence that you never leave or forsake me. Help me to not be
overly burdened by the things of this world – things that will rot and rust.
However, please fill my heart with compassion for the hurting, the sick, the
lonely, the abused, and those who do not know the hope of Jesus’ death and
resurrection. Let my thoughts and actions be infused with the grace and mercy I
have experienced from you so that remembering your lovingkindness, my heart
would be moved to joy because of your loving faithfulness. Amen.
I Believe …
I believe that I cannot by my
own reason or strength believe in Jesus Christ, my Lord, or come to Him; but
the Holy Spirit has called me by the Gospel, enlightened me with His gifts,
sanctified and kept me in the true faith. In the same way He calls, gathers,
enlightens, and sanctifies the whole Christian church on earth, and keeps it
with Jesus Christ in the one true faith. In this Christian Church He daily and
richly forgives all my sins and the sins of all believers. On the Last Day He
will raise me and all the dead, and give eternal life to me and all believers
in Christ.
This is most certainly true.
23 The Lord is my
shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in
green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth
me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the
valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy
rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me
in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup
runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall
follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for
ever.

Lord’s Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy name,
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done on earth
as it is in heaven;
give us this day our daily
bread;
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those
who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom
and the power and the glory
forever and ever. Amen.

Now may our Lord Jesus Christ
himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good
hope through grace, comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work
and word. (2 Thess. 2:16-17 ESV)
