Two points that I grabbed from Gov. DeWine’s press
conference today.
1.
Dr. Acton said that as the coronavirus is gotten
under control, “We won’t be running back to any mass gatherings.” We need to be
patient and flexible in order to live out our faith. The world may not see what
we do as “essential,” but it is. This is a matter of death and life. We were
dead in our trespasses and sins, and we need the life and forgiveness Jesus won
for us. We will continue to seek ways to share the hope we have in Christ.
2.
Gov. DeWine was asked about churches who are not
complying with the Stay-at-Home order and gathering in ways that put people at
risk of exposure. His response was right-on. He said that these measures are
about loving one another, and that is at the heart of many religions –
including ours. Jesus said, “A new command I give you: Love one another.” This
distancing and staying home is about loving one another and loving our
neighbors to slow the spread of COVID-19.
Please take care of yourselves, look out for one another,
and help your neighbors. If you need help, please reach out!
God’s peace be with you!
