The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe - Into Narnia


This Sunday, July 3, is the Fourth Sunday after Pentecost.

This week’s sermon is Come and See.

Isaiah 66:10-14

Galatians 6:1-10, 14-18

Luke 10:1-20

Psalm 66:1-7

 

Message: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe – Into Narnia

Exploring the house, trying to avoid “the Macready.”

-        Driven to the Wardrobe

o   A sense of being called.

-        Fur Coats to Fir Trees

o   A little 5th Commandment concern

There is a revelation that Edmond lied.

-        Nothing hidden will not be revealed.

-        Edmund is caught, confronted, and unrepentant.

o   This is a big insight into human response to being caught in sin.

 

Lucy leads them to Tumnus’s house.

-        Sacked and Arrested

-        Highlights the danger

o   Living with danger is important.

o   There is a debate as to the responsibility of the children in the situation.

 

New Characters: Mr. & Mrs. Beaver

-        There is a resistance in Narnia.

o   The idea of a remnant.

-        “Aslan is on the move!”

-        They introduce the Prophecy that explains the Witch’s motives.

o   “When Adam’s flesh and Adam’s bone

o   Sits at Cair Paravel in throne,

o   The evil times will be over and done.
